I dislike Christianity...

... I'm slowly coming to that conclusion. Of all of the world's religions it seems to be the one for which I have the least time.

Regardless of how much time I spend around christians (and online it's an awful lot of time, lately) I seem to be getting more and more intolerant of Christ and God in general. I don't feel that way about any other religion.. maybe I'm just spending way too much time seeing people use their religion as an excuse for treating other people like shit... maybe I just hate the way that most christians seem to shove the bible in my face (and they always manage to find a bible verse to cover any and all things in the world from telling lies to masterbating!)

I can't really put my finger on just what it is that is fostering this deep dislike of all things christian, either. It's just started in the last few weeks... maybe it was seeing Stephen Baldwin (the hollywood actor) in the Celebrity Big Brother house, preaching to all of the housemates... reading to them from the bible, saying the most outrageous things! Like if he and his family were on a bus and a gunman put a gun to his daughter's head and said "Say that Jesus isn't real" and his daughter looked to him for advice and said "What shall I say?" he said this "I'd tell my daughter to do what she's been raised to say (to never deny Christ) and I'd see her in heaven" WTF!! He would rather that his daughter be killed, then deny Jesus... to me that is a disgusting thing to say, and any god that put more value on their own self-importance than a human life (a life of one it's own Chosen People, no less), is not a god I want anything to do with... EVER!!!

I've been reading some of the threads and replies over at CF, and some of them are laughable... or they would be if the people writing it were not so deadly serious. Sometimes I have to admit to being very afraid of some of the people there - just because they are so blinkered in their views, and also that they are raising kids to believe in the same grotesque things they do!! They are the ones that I feel the most sorry for, the children... they are the ones that will suffer in the long run (although their parents disagree and see their kids as wonderful little carbon copies, filled with the same hatred and bile that they themselves contain, certain that they are heaven-bound for sticking to the crap in the bible, regardless or not of whether it makes them shocking hypocrites!).

I've never seen a pagan hate someone for their views on god... dismiss the person as evil or "bound to burn" as more of the conservative christians feel about anyone not agreeing with their interpretation of scripture... tell millions of people that they are "siinning" for the most basic of things (things that most people don't even consider when living their daily life).

I ask myself, what do I personally believe in? ... and the answer is that I don't really know. I think I have a better idea of what I don't believe in:
  • I don't believe in hell
  • I don't think that anyone that doesn't think the same as me is wrong, sinful or evil
  • I don't think I believe in Jesus (there is nothing good from following him that I can see anymore)
  • I don't believe that the bible is true, inerrant or the word of God
  • I don't believe in the Devil, Satan, Lucifer or any evil deity that is the enemy of the "good" God

That is just for starters... and it is more or less all about christianity... seems like my biggest problem is just that, christianity!

Something that made me think about the "Christian" God

I know a lady online that is possessed by demons. Seriously. She believes that she is! Not one or two, but dozens of them! No, she is not mentally ill, neither is she a raving lunatic. Lets call her M. M is a highly intelligent, rational woman, mostly. A mother of three children (now adults) M calls these demons diamonizomai... for the most part M is one of the nicest people that I've ever met online, yet when the daimonizomai take control of her she morphs into a person that bears little resemblance to the person she is normally. M talks about herself in the third person, or refers to herself as "it"... when the daimonizomai take her over big time, she swears, writes aggressive posts, and has actually been banned from more forums and messages boards then you can shake a stick at. Through it all she has had a kind of waivering faith in christianity, sometimes for, sometimes against, other times ambiguious regarding her faith. She is also the victim of demonic attacks, they shout at her, punish her, rape her on the astral plane and also in her mortal body (I have no idea how, but she says that it feels just like being physically raped, yet there is no visable bodily trauma).

Some people might think that M has an undiagnosed mental disorder, like bipolar disorder or schitzophrenia... yet she has been to doctors and they can find nothing medically wrong with her. She dabbled in Satanism in her youth, the way that a lot of American kids that where/are raised in strongly religious households seem to do (she was raised Roman Catholic). She also says that she actually met and made a deal of some sort with Satan himself which is the cause of her possessions (which have been occuring since 1983!)

She wrote these posts at a forum I frequent... I will post them in their entirety below (they are very long, for which I apologise).

Post 1.
OK first: patience please. This will prove quite the wall of text!!!

In a nutshell -- God heard my cries and sent someone capable of helping. It took this person several months to gain what little trust I had to offer before he could step forward and offer to help -- and indeed the process was harrowing and pretty scary in some places. At one point they attacked him so fiercely (psychologically/spiritually) I literally thought I was a goner, that he would abandon me and I would be "titrated" up to the "next (population count) level".

The "formal process" itself (doing what can, of course, really only be properly described as exorcism) took -- hmm lets see -- four sessions, the first two about 5 hours each, the third one about three hours (which was the one wherein he got attacked so hard and he came out of it filled with doubts and feeling it had all been futile, etc. though thank God he recovered quickly from that through his faith and connection with God) and the last one being yesterday, beginning around 1:30 pm in the afternoon, with a break about 6:30 pm (desperately needing rest -- this process is absolutely nothing if not EXHAUSTING!!!) and resuming again around 8:30 pm. In fact, neither one of us even anticipated what happened yesterday. He felt burnt out and doubting of himself and not at all ready to dive back into the fray. I felt exhausted, threadbare in soul, depleted, confused, and in something of a panic over abandonment fears. We got together again, started talking, started praying, and the Spirit of God just came with full force and away He went with us there to finish the job. And we both knew it would be finished one way or another because we both were not about to stop until it was. It just all came together like that. I could not in a million years have arranged any of this if I tried.

When the last "cluster" was being extracted/driven out I literally became fully aware at the time that this was indeed the case -- that this WAS in fact the last of them and once this one got ousted I would, in fact, be free. Really, truly free. Obviously I did NOT expect that awareness to dawn and it took me by surprise, but was definitely not unwelcome!! It took just over 2 hours on that last one alone and that last one contained a boatload of elements that put closure on things. We then were both just so excited and happy we spent the next several hours just talking and praying. There's this incredible bond between us now, a bond of the heart and spirit like nothing else -- this man is truly my BROTHER in every sense of the word even more profoundly than anyone related by blood. We both fully believe that God brought us together for a reason and we're eager to explore that in terms of serving and ministering together. (He has a wife and I'm 100% committed to supporting the sanctity and wholeness of his marriage so no, we're not going THERE.)

The very first thing I wrote or shared with anyone else about this, in fact, I wrote at the Son's Cafe board around 3:30 am:

God help me if I'm mistaken about this, but at one point during that last "round" I became fully aware that when this "cluster" got ejected that would be the end of it. It was a nasty cluster with roots going all the way back to where my faith first got shipwrecked all those years ago. I had various envisonings of its contents which resolved into something resembling a gleaming black rod ("ramrod") running central like a shaft through the core plunged down into the foundations of the abyss. The cluster itself had roots going to my original encounters with satan years ago; the firstfallen and his (futile!!) attempt at usurpation and occupation of the throne of God; the erosion of faith by subtle legalistic ideas combined with a hefty dose of "the accuser"; the fiery dart exploded into me in my first semester there by the college president (who detonated a mindjob bomb suggesting the subjection of the Almighty and Sovereign True and Ever-Living God to the mere imaginative faculties of homo sapiens); and various notions of Hadit (as a false monad and a twisted notion of the "divine spark" in all) and atheism. It took close to 2.5 hours to get that core foundational cluster to leave but during the struggle I became keenly (and quite joyfully!) aware that when it went, that would be the end of my occupation.

There's a few things I'd like to mention and share about criteria and readiness, for the record, but this has been long enough so I shall do that in another post.

**when asked by another member how the freedom felt**

Freedom? It feels wonderful!! Though it still has this kind of surreal quality to it, some of which no doubt has been exacerbated by my lack of sleep. I look forward to an end to my insomnia of several years and being able to sleep now. (Even the one that kept grabbing my spine and waking me up is gone!)

It feels full of hope and possibility. It feels calm and happy. And so do I. I DO feel like dancing!! I feel ALIVE!! I feel really ALIVE!! I am looking FORWARD to life now, excited about what the future will bring. It is really true that God does give us hope and a future!!!

Post 2.

OK just a few details about "leading up to" this over the past several months.... as I mentioned, God heard my cries to Him and sent someone to help. Specifically, He sent someone who fulfilled a few key criteria that I really don't think I could have clearly articulated beforehand, though instinctively knew had to be present for things to happen -- namely,
(a) he wasn't full of himself or seeking anything for himself whatsoever;
(b) God gave him a sense of compassion for me and the ability to SEE me, to perceive my heart and the real nature of my plight, and he'd been praying himself as to what/how he could help
(c) he walked completely humble, transparent, and open/naked in soul and spirit, and regarded himself as fully dependent on God to lead him and had to "feel" his way through as he did not have much prior experience in this arena (considering what passes for "experience" out there, this was probably a GOOD thing);
(d) being humble and not full of himself or seeking for himself he also became very teachable and completely open to being taught in the process, revising and/or correcting misconceptions based on what experience and the Spirit's leading showed him.
God also had to prepare me in certain ways. While giving absolutely no credence whatsoever to any false accusations impugning my own heart's desire (which manifest or buried has been for freedom since this befell me in 1983, though many would accuse otherwise based on outward appearances of demeanor, behavior, etc. as you well know) I can say there were a few things that had to take place inside me first before I could be ready for this.

Namely -- and this would not necessarily be universal by any means; REAL exorcism is, if nothing else, an exceedingly intimate and personal process -- God had to personally bring ME (and make no mistake this has all been His work from start to finish) to the place where--
(a) I could permit human beings to be just that, human beings, and not expect perfection of them;
(b) being enslaved, programmed and controlled grew so experientially intolerable on a consistent basis that the "Stockholm syndrome" aspects of it became unsustainable and began to crumble;
(c) my desire for freedom became so excruciatingly painful that I not only began to cry out for it as often as I had conscious & cognizant awareness to do so but by some miracle of grace I actually began to try to reach out to God at the very times the dark forces sought to overtake me, with mixed results. Sometimes I just plain couldn't, of course. But the times I could, what could have been 2-3 days lost in total subjugation "in the abyss" as I perceived it would turn into maybe a profound struggle of an hour or two and then suddenly -- almost literally like waking up -- I'd become aware -- hey waitaminnit here -- they aren't driving/riding me so hard right now. (Wow, did He hear me? Did He really do something?)
(d) I'd also had several experiences scattered on various occasions over the past 12-18 months of what I can only describe as "tasting of God's fire" -- the REAL lahati -- as opposed to what began to really appear to me to be a cheap and insufficient substitute deployed by Them to subjugate and control me. I started craving the real deal as a result and becoming increasingly dissatisfied with their knock-off version.
Gradually through these unfolding changes inside I became more consciously and consistently identified with my real desire for freedom rather than the identity I'd been living with for 26 years as one hopelessly doomed and afflicted who could not be healed.

I also needed to be personally persuaded of His love for me and that He desired AND WILLED my freedom. This might sound (in writing) like a lot of complicated hoops to jump through but in reality, NONE of these things EVER got presented as "must"s or "should"s; things simply did not unfold that way. Rather, these internal changes unfolded as a very gradual and "organic" developmental shift in my being over the past four or five months. The singular most significant development as part of these changes, which I can clearly recall, would be coming to the awareness -- which to some degree involved coming to conscious agreement with the possibility thereof -- that He had never forsaken me or abandoned me; that I had in fact been convinced of this lie through a "matrix" style "tapestry of the apparent and all that seemed to be". In fact probably the most significant personal breakthrough prior to entering the "formal process" of exorcism itself had been one day (or night?) crying out to Him begging Him for help and mercy (I did this frequently in private over the past 3-4 weeks) wherein I realized, and told Him out loud, that I had only gone with Satan because I really believed He (God) had completely abandoned me.

It was one of those moments where you say something out loud at the very moment you are actually seeing it and realizing it for the first time. I honestly I don't recall whether that had been the first time or not but I cannot EVER recall any time previously wherein I'd had that particular realization. It was one of those moments of healing coinciding with repentance.

Anyway that's pretty much everything I think. I don't have a blow-by-blow account to give of everything in sequence as I was not consciously tracking for a great deal of the time. I never completely lost consciousness but I have no awareness of the details of things that happened other than the rhythms of going in and out between the times my spiritual brother would be talking with me and the times he would be addressing Them and attending to business there. I think he wrote down some stuff, but neither one of us were exactly looking to write a novel about it or make a major motion picture here. We both had only one goal in mind.

Post 3.

OH -- and none of this at any time felt contrived, manipulated, prematurely forced, or in any other way, shape, or form any kind of "rip off". I feel completely satisfied of God's love for me throughout this process. I feel nothing but love toward the person He sent to help me -- no hidden resentments, no secret disdain, no critical faultfinding eye, just honest love and gratitude. I am so grateful this precious person was not afraid to listen to and obey what the Holy Spirit laid on his heart. Many indeed had been called, but honestly did not feel up to undertaking it, and most of those for very good reasons, reasons based entirely in love and friendship and a sincere heartfelt concern that by "meddling" they might inadvertently make things worse.

But in the end, this person chose to say yes, and I am very grateful for this, both to him as well as to God.

And now, I strongly suspect, a change of online moniker will be in order. I'm waiting to see how the Spirit leads in that. I don't want any name but the one He gives me.

After reading them, and after knowing this lady for nearly two years and seeing the way she's been treated by others of her faith, and also having seen the way she used to post and posts now (she now writes in the first person using "I" and not "it", she doesn't swear or get angry, or use funny little words like "bes" (she used to write "It bes looking for something" now it's "I am looking for something") I have no doubt that she has undergone a major change in her life. She believes that she has been exorcised of clusters of demons that have been inhabiting her, using her, controlling her and taking her over mind, body and soul for decades. She truly, truly believes that God has released her from her torment... and I can't see how she could lie about this, or fool the hundreds of people that have befriended her over the years (some that are very much closer to her than I will ever be), nor why she would want to make herself the object of the sometimes total persecution and hatred that she's been subjected to over the years (that I've witnessed)... where sometimes just the mere mention of her name has had her banned from forums because her reputation has gone before her, and many people just couldn't or didn't know how to, or want to handle her.

There can only be one word that sums up what has happened to her... a miracle. Bear in mind that this happened just after xmas (the posts are originally dated Dec 28th 2009)... now in the past she has never managed to go so long without reverting to her old form of writing... she's tried to write in a normal manner before but, has never managed it for longer than three posts before the diamonizomai always got back in control of her... so to see her writing in this new style for almost a month is bewildering, to say that least.

I don't know how to explain it, but it has made me think about whether or not the christian God does exist after all. M has no doubt He does... that He led her through of this, for whatever reason I don't know... to make her recovery all the more astounding? To punish her for doubting in Him in the first place and going over to Satan? In order to prepare her for something as yet in the future? Or just because she was chosen to suffer everything she has in her life in order for God to use her as proof that He does care and does help, albeit in His own time? Or even that He does exist?

Now... I'm wondering if her upbringing could be a factor in all of this (just call me a cynic, lol)... I have never heard of anyone that is possessed by demons (against their will) that is not a christian, usually certain evangelical branches and the Roman Catholics. I've never heard of an Anglican that has been possessed by demons (but then I have never done any great research into it). Exorcisms are mostly carried out by Catholic priests, they are the ones that are always shown to be carrying them out (not sure if there are other denominations that have priests that do anything similar).

I am just baffled, and full of questions.
